Tourism in Rocky Point

WOW, great to see all of the people back in Puerto Penasco, aka Rocky Point, enjoying the beaches, music and food of Sonora, Mexico!     The tourists have rediscovered our little hidden paradise by the Sea of Cortez.   With tourism reaching record numbers, local venues are rolling out the red carpet to welcome visitors.   Temperatures are a bit cooler than our neighbors to the north, Phoenix and Tucson, so many people are escaping to the cooler breezes on the Sea.   The temperature in the Sea of Cortez is rising, making it perfectly warm at a perfect 90 something degrees.   The high salt content makes floating a breeze, and is a terrific skin treatment to boot!

With literally thousands of beautiful condos available for rent, a family can relax in a 1500 square foot paradise, complete with modern kitchen granite counters, full sized appliances, fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and oven, 2 large bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a balcony overlooking the Sea of Cortez!     The resorts in Rocky Point also have beautiful pools if getting sand in your swimsuit is not your thing.    Las Palomas resort also has a lazy river, which is a favorite for our floating friends who want to enjoy an adult beverage while reclining in their floatie.    Another reason that Las Palomas is preferred is their room service, for those days when cooking or even heading to a restaurant is too much.

Speaking of restaurants, there is no shortage of great eateries in Rocky Point.   With moderate prices and a wide range of specialties from Italian to Mexican cuisine, the choices are endless.    Several restaurants feature fabulous views, like Mare Blue, Pane e Vino, El Captain, and Wrecked at the Reef.   Like music too?   There are many restaurants and bars that feature all types of music.

Circus Mexicus

This past weekend, Circus Mexicus surrounded us with musical venues throughout Penasco from Thursday through Sunday.   Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers have been great supporters of the people of Puerto Penasco for many years.
